Mango Tree Bistro

There is a new Thai restaurant on the Greenbelt 5 restaurant row.  It's called Mango Tree Bistro.  The menu indicates that it's a chain that can be found in Thailand, Japan, Dubai - and now in Manila.

The queens checked it out and we ordered our usual Thai favorites.

We started with the Pomelo salad.  This is a great tasting salad.  I also like the Pomelo that they used - sweet not bitter.  They also made sure that you don't fight over a lonesome shrimp which other Thai restaurants usually have.

One of my favorite Thai dish is the Prawn toast.  I had it in Banana Leaf Curry.  I love that dish but this one from the Mango Tree Bistro is excellent.

For our main course, we ordered the Pad Thai.  Fresh noodles but a little under seasoned for my taste.

For our final dish, we ordered the Thai ribs with Red Curry.  This was a bit of a disappointment.  It lacks the kick of a good curry dish.

Overall - the Mango Tree Bistro is a good option for your Thai cravings.   If you happen to visit the place and don't have shellfish allergies - I will definitely recommend the Shrimp Toast.

  1. Due solely to your blog, I find myself wanting to visit the Philippines...

  2. @LPC: Thank you for visiting the blog and thank you for your kind words.

You have an open invite from me to visit our country and of course the house of queens. Not now - because we're in the middle of the monsoon season - unless that's the kind of adventure you are looking for. It's best to visit us in January and February- which is our COOL dry season. Cool is of course relative.

I think that the Philippines has a lot to offer when it comes to Aquatic adventures. I know a lot of Americans and Europeans who get diving certifications in the country. From that first step - you can choose to swim with the Dugong, the Whale Sharks, or all the tropical fishes ( including the clown fish ) which call the Philippine Seas as their home.

  3. I read your blog all the time. And I thank you for the invitation. With any luck, some day I will be able to take you up on it.
